Hsinchu County is in the northwest of Taiwan, at 122 degrees east longitude and 22.5 degrees north latitude, bordering Taoyuan City, Miaoli County, Taichung City and Yilan County, and surrounding Hsinchu City. Hsinchu County has an area of 1427.5931 square kilometers.
Hsinchu County is divided into one county-controlled city, three towns, and nine townships: Zhubei City, Zhudong Town, Xinpu Town, Guanxi Town, Xinfeng Township, Emei Township, Baoshan Township, Wufeng Township, Hengshan Township, Beipu Township, Jianshi Township, Qionglin Township and Hukou Township.
