Come cheer up for the athletes in Hsinchu County

Taipei 2017 Summer Universiade is being held from August 19th to 30th. There are four events taking place in Hsinchu County, including Judo and Martial Art at Hsinchu County Arena, Water Polo at Hsinchu County Swimming Pool, and Soccer at Hsinchu County Second Stadium. On the evening of August 21st, the soccer game between Italy and Russia drew over a thousand spectators on the spot. Many people even said that it was really worthwhile to watch an international game!

For the international sporting event, Hsinchu County Government particularly renovated three athletic facilities. The renovation of Hsinchu County Second Stadium includes artificial turf, a drainage system, and a new spectator stand with 2,500 seats. The newly renovated stadium has received the FIFA 2-Star Quality Certification. Besides, the renovation of Hsinchu County Arena includes its air-conditioning system, installation of wood flooring at Central Court, and space rearrangement. Lastly, the renovation of Hsinchu County Swimming Pool includes its air-conditioning system and space rearrangement. The government has prepared for the events for over a year and a half. They have tried hard to provide the local residents with great, renovated facilities. Through this international event, they are also looking forward to promoting sports and enhancing the world reputation of Hsinchu County.

On the other hand, the Police Bureau carries out a strict security checking process, which follows airport security measures, when spectators get into the venues. In addition, a face detection and recognition system is utilized at the entrance of the Second Stadium. More police officers are also deployed to stand guard for the safety of the athletes and the spectators.

Hsinchu County is responsible for 46 Water Polo games, 30 Judo competitions, 45 Martial Art competitions, and 21 soccer games. In addition to booking pre-sale tickets online, visitors can purchase tickets outside each venue as well. The tickets, which are one-day passes, are available for sale an hour before the first game of the day. Now, 80% of tickets to Water Polo, Soccer and Judo games have been sold.
