The Tung Flowers of Hsinchu County are in Bloom; Visit the Tung Blossom Secret Wonderlands on 12 RoutesFor this year’s Hsinchu County Tung Blossom Festival, seven townships, including Hukou, Xinpu, Qionglin, Baoshan, Zhudong, Hengshan and Beipu Township, and 12 associations have planned 12 itineraries that feature tung blossoms. From April 22 to May 13, people can come to Hsinchu County to view beautiful tung blossoms, experience traditional Hakka culture, and appreciate the charm of Hsinchu County first-hand.

County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun says that the Tung Blossom Festival is the tourist highlight of Hsinchu County in spring, and each township has its own tung flower viewing spots. Tung blossoms bloom along the roads at those scenic spots in April, and then cover the ground like a blanket of snow in May, creating unique looks of Hakka settlements. This tung blossom themed event is jointly organized by township offices and communities in the county. With great passion, they would like to invite everyone to Hsinchu County to savor the touching stories and explore the beautiful landscapes.

Through the 12 travel routes launched this year, visitors can experience Hakka culture, rural life, arts and performances, and the tung blossom market, where they can make traditional Hakka desserts by themselves. Moreover, visitors can also stroll along Hukou Old Street, explore distinctive local features, visit historic Hakka buildings, and enjoy refreshing tung flower phytoncides with family or friends. From now until May 13, people are welcome to visit Hsinchu County for a series of events. The hospitality of the local people and the beauty of tung blossoms will not let visitors down.
