2016 Taiwan Agricultural Product Joint Sales Exhibition, Hsinchu County's Agricultural Products Won Rave ReviewsThe North Taiwan Regional Development Committee (NTDC), which emphasizes cooperation in place of competition, regional resource integration and co-prosperity, held its 2nd deputy leaders’ meeting in Kinmen County on October 1. This meeting was also attended by the deputy leaders of the outlying island counties Kinmen, Penghu and Lienjiang. The Committee’s deputy leaders’ meeting discussed the expanded Taiwan Agricultural Product Joint Sales Exhibition that also opened in Kinmen on October 1, the event aims to use Kinmen’s advantage of geographical location to attract large numbers of visitors from Mainland China during October Golden Week for creating more business opportunities. Yang Wen-ke, deputy magistrate of Hsinchu County, took superior agricultural products from the Hsinchu County to the exhibition, with the aim of allowing more people to taste the high quality agricultural products. Su Zong-chen, director of the Northern Region Branch of the Agriculture and Food Agency, Council of Agriculture, and Jiang Su-mei, director of its Hsinchu office, were also here with full of praise for Hsinchu County’s fine agricultural products.

2016 Taiwan Agricultural Product Joint Sales Exhibition opened at Kinmen’s Wind Lion Plaza on October 1 to October 5. Various businesses that are members of Hsinchu County Farmers’ Association and Guanxi Township Farmers’ Association are exhibiting a variety of fine products, including Emei Oriental Beauty Tea, Guanxi xian cao herbal jelly and honey, Zhudong Gold Sister kumquat jam, Zhubei rice vermicelli with minced pork, Xinfeng skinned chilies, Beipu Hakka lei tea and tomato ramen noodles, Xinpu pomelo tea and persimmon cakes, Hukou taro fragrance rice noodles, Baoshan olives, and Qionglin tomatoes.

The North Taiwan Regional Development Committee, the promoter of this cooperation plan, was established for over 13 years. To deepen regional cooperation, many outlying islands’ cross-area platform work meetings have been held with Kinmen County, Lienjiang County and Penghu County in which joint tourism promotion, joint agricultural product marketing, and safe vegetable production and inspection experience has been shared. The Taiwan Agricultural Product Joint Sales Exhibition is the first large scale cross-area platform activity to be held in Taiwan which involved 8 cities/counties in North Taiwan, 3 outlying island counties and cities/counties in central of Taiwan with a total of 14 cities/counties. The aim of the event is to develop business opportunities and promote inter-industry exchange. The tourism bureaus of 8 cities/counties in North Taiwan were also invited to promote the North Taiwan tourism and distinctive trips. Throughout the event, the NTDC hopes that the event will create the objective of diversifying tourist sources for North Taiwan cities/counties and boost the North Taiwan's tourism industry.
