Hsinchu JKO Lioneers’ Last Home Regular in This Season Magistrate Yang Wen-ke Cheers for the Team

The P.LEAGUE+ professional basketball league Hsinchu JKO Lioneers played their last regular home game for the season in Hsinchu County against the Formosa Taishin Dreamers. The game started on April 29 at the Hsinchu County Gymnasium. Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke was present to watch the game and cheer for the team. He was shouting “Win the Championship” from the sidelines.

The JKO Lioneers have been doing quite well this season. Since they defeated the Taoyuan Pilots on March 25, they’ve started a 7-game winning streak with 16 wins and 9 losses, securing the top position in the league. The game against the Formosa Taishin Dreamers on April 29 will be the last regular home game for this season in Hsinchu County. This game also posed a challenge for the Lioneers winning every single game in a single month. With this win, it will be possible for the JKO Lioneers to meet the record of 8 consecutive victories in a single season created by the Fubon Braves last season.

Magistrate Yang attended the game and he presented JKO Lioneers basketball hats to Guangfu High School, which won this year’s HBL High School Basketball League Division A Men’s Basketball Championship and Hsinchu Commercial Vocational High School, which won the HBL Division B Women’s Basketball Championship. Together with athletes from these two schools, Magistrate Yang made a roaring lion pose to cheer on the JKO Lioneers.

In addition to watching the game from the sidelines, Yang Wen-ke was also really into shouting “JKO Lioneers” and “Win the Championship!” alongside other Lioneers fans. The atmosphere at the scene was exciting throughout the entire game.
