The Hsinchu County Government Delegation Visits the Nantou County Government for Exchanges and Discussions on Cooperative Opportunities of Agricultural Tourism

On the 23rd, Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke led a county government delegation to visit the Nantou County Government. After Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen and other top officials delivered a warm welcome, both sides began the exchange meeting. Magistrate Yang noted that tourism and agriculture are the main driving forces for Nantou’s development and praised the beauty of the county’s local scenery. He affirmed Magistrate Lin’s successful governance that transforms Nantou into “a tourist capital and a city of bliss.” Yang further stated that he shares common ideals with Magistrate Lin and hopes the exchange will lead to future cooperation to advance residents’ well-being in both counties.

Yang Wen-ke said that although Nantou is not near the sea, it has a lot of beautiful landscapes. Tourism and agriculture are the main development forces in Nantou. During Magistrate Lin’s terms of office, he has successfully transformed Nantou to become a capital of tourism, and the Sun Moon Lake has become one of the most famous scenic spots in Taiwan. Yang commented that Hsinchu County also has many unique sightseeing spots and hoped to learn from Nantou’s experiences to upgrade Hsinchu County’s tourism.

Yang mentioned that when it comes to Nantou County, everyone knows it has very good tea. The “Nantou World Tea Expo” has been held for 12 consecutive years, bringing a considerable amount of value and many tourists. Over the past three years, Hsinchu County has been successively awarded the City of Outstanding Economic Power, City of Happiness, Sustainable City, Best City to Live for Migrants and other recognitions. Yang shares common governing ideals with Magistrate Lin, including the goal of bringing happiness, joy, and blessings to the people in their counties.

Nantou County Magistrate Lin Ming-chen shared his governing experiences with the Hsinchu County Government delegation. The film “Nantou: A Tourist Capital of Happiness” introduced Nantou’s tourism policy and briefly explained the ongoing construction of several scenic spots. The film shows the proactiveness in governance by the Nantou County Government. Yang Wen-ke also invited the Nantou County Government to visit Hsinchu County for more exchanges and to experience the hospitality of Hakka people.
