National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch Unveiled

On January 4, the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch held a press conference on “Business Philosophy and Unveiling Ceremony.” Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke, the Ministry of Science and Technology Hsinchu Science Park Bureau Director General Wayne Wang, National Taiwan University Vice President Chang Shang-chwen, National Taiwan University Hospital Superintendent Wu Ming-shiang and National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch Superintendent Chong-Jen Yu participated in the unveiling ceremony at the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Biomedical Park Branch and the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu City Branch to witness this historic moment together.

According to County Magistrate Yang, the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsinchu Branch will integrate the medical resources of the three hospitals so that county residents can have the best care. Those who come to Hsinchu County to work or live can also enjoy the services, making it more attractive for everyone to live in the Hsinchu area, which will greatly facilitate the development of Hsinchu. He hopes that the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu Branch can become the Hsinchu National Taiwan University Hospital in the future so that people in the Hsinchu area can enjoy the highest quality medical services and well-being.

Superintendent Wu Ming-shiang said that this is the first time that the National Taiwan University medical system has stepped out of Taipei to establish a medical center level National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-Chu branch. Although the hospital is distributed over three areas, it will not be a three-headed wagon, but an iron triangle. The Hsinchu area is vast and various medical care is necessary. Since the National Taiwan University medical system is regarded as one of the guardians of the country, National Taiwan University Hospital has come to the greater Hsinchu area to provide better medical care, teaching, and research. With the existing infrastructure and the full support of the National Taiwan University Hospital, the various hospitals will do their best to provide local medical services that are worthy of public trust.

The National Taiwan University medical system is based on the geographical proximity of the three branches in the Hsinchu area. This makes the sharing of medical resources possible and makes it more conducive for establishing medical centers to meet the medical treatment needs of the people. Therefore, starting from 2017, the Hsinchu Branch, the Biomedical Park Branch and the Zhudong Branch began merging their operations. The original three branches in the Hsinchu area were consolidated into the National Taiwan University Hospital Hsin-chu Branch, under which are the two medical institutions, Hsin-Chu City Branch and Biomedical Park Branch (including the hospital in Zhubei and the hospital in Zhudong). Each of the two medical institutions has its independent person in charge of the management and promotion of hospital affairs. Through "business integration", "resource sharing", and "role division ", each of the three branches in Hsinchu has its own characteristics for maximum synergy to enhance the scope and depth of medical services in the greater Hsinchu area.
