Hsinchu County Issues First OK FUN Tourism Mark: County Magistrate Yang Visits Hukou Old Street Commercial District

        With the slowing down of the COVID-19 epidemic, the Central Epidemic Command Center is promoting the new epidemic prevention living movement and the Ministry of Transportation and Communications is also promoting safe travel for epidemic prevention. The public is encouraged to implement personal epidemic prevention and patronize businesses that are cooperating with epidemic prevention measures. By working hard together to ensure certain safety conditions, both public living and industrial economy can gradually return to normal and improve. On May 26, the county government awarded the Reassured Hotel mark to hotels in Hsinchu County. Today, County Magistrate Yang Wen-Ke and his wife also visited the Hukou Old Street. They awarded the OK FUN Tourism Mark to 10 businesses in the commercial district to stimulate tourism and encourage epidemic prevention so that tourists visiting the Hukou Commercial District can feast and have fun with a peace of mind.

 

        County Magistrate Yang said that he awarded the OK FUN Tourism Mark to these 10 excellent businesses to reassure tourists visiting the Hukou Commercial District. In addition to working with the industry to revitalize tourism, he will also work at epidemic prevention. He calls on the public to be diligent in their epidemic prevention. With the slowing down of the epidemic, he encourages everyone to enjoy outdoor recreation and welcomes the public to visit the lively commercial districts of Hsinchu County. By working together to implement the new epidemic prevention living, quality of life and economic development can improve.

        Yu Chih-Shiang, Director of the Transportation and Tourism Department, said that the Department is currently counseling 32 members of the Hukou Old Street Commercial District in the tourism epidemic prevention SOP set by the Central Epidemic Prevention. To obtain the OK FUN Tourism Mark, employees must wear masks at work, disinfect work tops from time to time, keep spaces well-ventilated, measure the body temperature of customers, provide dry-cleaning hand disinfectant and maintain safe social distance. By strengthening the epidemic prevention capabilities of business operators in Hsinchu County, tourists can dine, shop and travel with a peace of mind.

        Luo Mei-Yao, Chair of the Hukou Old Street Commercial District mentioned that everyone managed to survive the most sluggish time in April and the epidemic has finally slowed down. She thanked the county government for its great support by providing epidemic prevention counseling to businesses. The mark awarded today is a very important policy for reassuring tourists visiting the Old Street. Stores that have won the OK FUN Tourism Mark are Yuanji Treasure House, Laowu Herbal Tea Shop, Miaokou Noodle King, Xiaowokou Stonebaked Pizza, Bainian Suiyue Restaurant, Liuji Charcoal Grilled Stinky Tofu, Anna Homemade Desserts, Rui Shuan Baker Shop (sweet potato pastry), Kuoyang Glass Gallery and Hukou Style Restaurant. All visitors are welcome to come enjoy Hukou Old Street.
