Hsinchu Bar Association officially unveils and opens its new building--the only detached bar association hall in the nation: County Magistrate Yang joins in the celebration.

Following the relocation of the Hsinchu District Court and the Hsinchu District Prosecutors Office to Zhubei, the Hsinchu Bar Association also moved to Zhubei. Since 2017, the Hsinchu Bar Association has planned to build the Bar Association Hall. From land purchase, construction to interior design, the hall is finally completed in three years and costed about NT$56 million. The hall is located at No. 37, Chenggong 16th Street, Zhubei City. It is less than 500 meters away from the Hsinchu District Court. The four-story building will provide space for conferences, rest and further education for the Association's lawyers. The hall is officially launched today, on June 22. County Magistrate Yang Wen-Ke personally came to congratulate the Association. He credits the leadership of former Chairperson Yang Ming-Hsun and current Chairperson Wang Tsai-Yu of the Association in the planning and the efforts of all the previous directors of the Hsinchu Bar Association for the successful completion of its hall. Having the hall based in Zhubei City is an indication that Zhubei Township has great potential for development. County Magistrate Yang believes that the hall will be very helpful to future legal businesses in the Hsinchu area. He also hopes that the Hsinchu Bar Association will continue to assist the county government and benefit more people.

Chairperson Wang of the Hsinchu Bar Association said that this year marks the 70th anniversary of the Association, and the Association finally has its own home. Currently, there are more than 1,000 local and non-local lawyers in the Association. This hall is the only detached bar association building in the nation. The needs of all its members for on-the-job training, lounge, meeting, office and multi-functional spaces were taken into consideration in its design. In the future, the space will be available for the Association's club meetings. Wang hopes that the hall will become a place where all members can gather in unity for exchanges and communication. It is also an important base for protecting the rights of lawyers.
According to the county government, it will continue to promote the Legal Consultation Services and expand its service channels with the enthusiastic assistance of the Hsinchu Bar Association and its lawyers. In recent years, with the advancement of Internet and information facilities, service bases for Audiovisual Legal Consultation have also been established in Emei Township, Baoshan Township and Beipu Township. In addition, as of February this year, the Hsinchu District Court has also begun to provide Audiovisual Consultation Services on Litigation Procedures to provide county residents with diversified, convenient and high-quality legal services.
