China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital signs an MOU with Chicago Prostate Center

The 2018 International Healthy and Intelligent Cities Summit was inaugurated at Hsinchu County Performance Hall on September 28. In the presence of Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun, an MOU was signed by Superintendent of China Medical University Hsinchu Hospital Chen Tzu-Liang and Medical Director of Chicago Prostate Center Brian J. Moran. Magistrate Chiu showed support for the partnership, which he believed would facilitate medical exchanges between Taiwan and the US and make improvement in cancer treatment.

Magistrate Chiu indicated that Hsinchu County has made its culture visible to the world since it hosted the 2013 Taiwan Lantern Festival and 2015 International Hakka Carnival. Now, the summit put a spotlight on Hsinchu County's healthcare technology. Through this medical and technological exchange, Magistrate Chiu hoped that Hsinchu County could become a world-class city.

To promote future cooperation and development between Hsinchu County and Westmont, Hsinchu County Government invited Chairman of Westmont Sister City Committee Angela Yang and industry representatives from Westmont to have in-depth discussions with local representatives of cultural, educational, medical, international public welfare, and green construction industries. During the summit, Superintendent Chen Tzu-Liang compared the state-of-the-art medical technology "Da Vinci Surgical System" with the conventional "laparoscopic surgery." Medical Director Brian J. Moran showed that he was looking forward to further cooperation and exchange with Hsinchu County, so that more people could benefit from the latest medical technology.

Counselor of Department of Investment Services, MOEA, Zhang Yuan-zhi, who also attended the summit, gave a presentation on major local and foreign investments in Hsinchu County and analyzed the advantages of its investment environment. With Hsinchu Science Park, Hsinchu Industrial Park, AI Research Center, and Fengshan Industrial Park, the comprehensive supply chain would be the most important factor that attracts more investments.

Accompanied by Magistrate Chiu, the delegation from Westmont visited National Synchrotron Radiation Research Center and Instrument Technology Research Center in the afternoon. Besides, they also visited a green building in Zhubei city, where the Real Estate Development Association of Hsinchu County signed an MOU with Chicago Taiwanese Architecture Institute.
