1. Must have statutory cause (, proviso of Article 11 and Article 13, Labor Standards Act)
2. Must give advance notice to the worker (Article 16, Labor Standards Act)
3. Shall offer the leave entitlements and pay the salary when the employee looks for a new job (Article 16, Labor Standards Act)
4. Calculation of severance pay (Old year of service system: Article 17, Labor Standards Act; New year of service system: Article 12, Labor Pension Act)
5. Must report the layoff (Article 33, Employment Service Act)
6. Certificate of involuntary resignation (for the worker’s application of unemployment benefits)
7. In case of mass redundancy, comply with the regulations (see Act for Worker Protection of Mass Redundancy)
