
The Michelin Guide Taiwan 2025 was published in August, with the latest Bib Gourmand and star recommendations. Hsinchu County had 21 restaurants win praise from Michelin. The winners include elements such as traditional Hakka cuisine, vegetarian food, noodles, dependents’ village (juancun)-style fare, yakiniku, wagyu beef, and more. Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke was delighted to see the global bible of delicious food propelling the good eating in Hsinchu County onto the global stage. He invited everyone to follow in the footsteps of Michelin by coming to Hsinchu County on a journey of taste discovery and experiencing the local customs.
August 12, the Michelin Guide Taiwan 2025 published their latest Bib Gourmand recommendations. The eight restaurants in Hsinchu County recommended were Ang Gu Noodles in Guanxi Township; Bebu in Beipu Township; Hung Chin in Zhudong Township; Noon Turnip Cake in Hengshan Township; Shan Guo Tang, Shou Wu Eat, and Tang Tsao Yuan in Zhubei City; and Zeu Gi Coi Bau on Zhongzheng Road in Beipu Township.
On August 19, the Michelin Guide’s selection of restaurants was published. This included Emei Township’s Geng Ye Yue Mei; Zhudong Fried Sparerib Noodle in Zhudong; Beipu Township’s Lao Tou Pai, Mud Brick House, and Peng Hakka Flavors; and Zhubei City’s ZenA, Sushi An, Sabi, Piccola Enoteca, Li Yueh, Happy Hwa, Firoo, and Chuan Fu.
A spokesperson for the Transportation and Tourism Department stated that, among the 21 Hsinchu County restaurants that have won affirmation from Michelin, Hakka restaurants have made a particularly strong showing, representing nearly half the restaurants awarded. Beipu Township also has a strong showing, with four restaurants recommended. Zhubei City also had eleven restaurants recommended, ranging from vegetarian to noodles to creative gastronomy.
The Transportation and Tourism Department spokesperson pointed out that Hsinchu County has wondrous landscapes of mountains, sea, and lakes, as well as Hakka, Indigenous, and more ethnic diversity. These nods from the Michelin Guide 2025 will further energize the tourism and economies in all these townships.
