The annual celebration of Dragon Boat Festival: 2019 Hsinchu County Magistrate Cup Dragon Boat Race

This year, a total of 41 teams (6 in the public agency's race, 15 in the men's race, 16 in the mixed race, and 4 in the exhibition race) competed in the Hsinchu County Magistrate Cup Dragon Boat Race. Before the major part of the event kicked off, the exhibition race, which featured government directors, councilors, Xinfeng Township officers, Xinfeng Township councilmen, and village chiefs, warmed the whole event up. Taking advantage of the holiday, thousands of local residents came to watch the exciting races in celebration of the annual Dragon Boat Festival.

Hsinchu County Magistrate Cup Dragon Boat Race is held at Chihe Lake, Xinfeng Township every year. It's the biggest event in Hsinchu County during Dragon Boat Festival, attracting more and more people to join in. Besides, Xinfeng Township is making progress year by year. With the support of the county government and council, the changes are visible. In the future, the government will promote the development of Potou Fishing Port.

The dragon boat race becomes more and more thrilling. All the participants are well-trained and determined to win the race. It's also a good chance to come traveling in Xinfeng Township.

[Xinfeng Township Mayor Xu Qiu-ze]
Dragon boat racing requires a synchronized pace of the crew. Teamwork and team spirit are also key to victory. Despite the recent hot weather, all the participants still practice hard to win the race. I also want to show my gratitude to the county government and council for their constant support for this event.

In addition to the splendid dragon boat race, visitors could also buy local produce at the sales area, do lifesaving drills, enjoy dance performances, and sample Xinfeng Township's local specialty, salted duck eggs. Everyone seemed to have a lot of fun.
