Local enterprise raises a fund to assist the Choir of Taoshan Elementary School in attending the international choral competition

Yung-Ching Realty Group held a charity bazaar at the square in front of Hsinchu County Hall on May 5 to raise money for the Choir of Taoshan Elementary School, which would like to participate in the 11th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition held in Germany. In addition, Yung-Ching Realty Group not only purchased 800 albums released by the choir but also donated another NT$150,000 and 90 sets of stationery to the school. On the other hand, Hsinchu County Government Cultural Affairs Bureau also donated NT$40,000 to fund their trip to Germany. Magistrate Yang Wen-ke attended the bazaar in traditional Atayal clothes. He appreciated the generous help from the enterprise and hoped that the students could shine on international stage.

General Manager of Franchise Development Division, Yung-Ching Realty Group, Zhuang Zhi-cheng(莊志成) showed that although the fund raised was not able to cover all the expense, it would still be greatly helpful. He looked forward to hearing good news from the students in the competition. Chairman of Yung-Ching Charity Foundation Wang Yang-chi(王陽齊) stated that the enterprise, which had been established for 30 years, had the responsibility to spread love to every corner of Taiwan. He hoped to attract more support from the public to make the children's dream come true.

Principal of Taoshan Elementary School Su Mei-juan(蘇美娟) said that the choir had been invited twice to join in choral competitions held in other countries. The kids spent several summer vacations practicing, but were unable to go abroad due to a series of difficulties. She showed gratitude to the organizer of the bazaar for helping realize the children's dream.

The Choir of Taoshan Elementary School, also known as Pqwasan na TaoShan, has been invited twice to lead people in singing the national anthem at the flag-raising ceremony on the National Day. Its third album "Secret Words of Skaru Elf," released in 2012, won the Best Traditional Album of the 24th Golden Melody Awards. The choir is also the regular winner at the choral competitions in Hsinchu County. This year, it will head to Germany to attend the 11th International Johannes Brahms Choir Festival and Competition, taking place from July 3 to 7. The event is expected to help students expand horizons and enrich learning experiences.
