The 2018 Hsinchu County Slow Life Festival is going to be held from January 20th to February 4th. There are three townships with 13 communities involved in the planning of this 3-week event. A total of about 30 activities will also be organized to allow visitors to enjoy the beauty and air of romance of Hakka villages along the Provincial Highway No.3 in multiple ways.
Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Chin-chun indicated this year’s Slow Life Festival has three themes featuring Hengshan, Zhudong and Guanxi respectively in three weeks. Many activities, including concerts, cultural and creative markets, light travels, art exhibitions, DIY workshops, and guided tours, will be arranged for visitors each week. The opening ceremony will take place along with a local farmers’ market at Provincial Highway No.3 Work Station on January 20th, while the closing ceremony will top the event off with a concert held at Dong’an Bridge on February 4th. Hsinchu County Government invites you to experience the charms of the Provincial Highway No.3 and the hospitality of the Hakka at a slower pace.
In the week of Hengshan Township, visitors can ride on free minibuses to explore different aspects of the town and engage in a series of activities. Then, the week of Zhudong Township features walking tours through streets and lanes, where visitors can find the hidden landscape of the town. Lastly, the week of Guanxi Township is characterized by biking along the trails of the town. In the bike tour, visitors can enjoy the splendid bucolic scenery and find out the fascination of Hakka Romantic Avenue.
