The 2017 New Tile House Fun Farming has launched a series of traditional solar term events since this August. On November 11th, a family persimmon dyeing activity was held with the participation of the special guests—Sean Lien and his wife Patty Tsai. Orange dyed neckerchiefs made by the participants were left air-dry near the green paddies, which created a splendid scene. On the same day, people could also buy local produce at the 13GoodPersons Market and Young Farmers’ Market and enjoy great music at the Grass Concert.
Mr. Lien and Ms. Tsai were extremely concerned about food safety. Thus, the couple specially went to the 13GoodPersons Market and Young Farmers’ Market to cheer up those smallholder farmers who insist on producing secure and healthy agricultural products. Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun also recommended the 13GoodPersons Market to all people. The market, which is open every Saturday, was established by community development volunteers from the 13 townships of Hsinchu County. Its primary mission is to provide people with pesticide-free, chemical-free, and additive-free foods.
Mr. Lien hoped that the community development of Hsinchu County could keep moving forward and health and love could be spread through the lead of the 3GoodPersons Market. On the other hand, in the Young Farmers’ Market, the farmers share their farming philosophies with the customers face to face, offering fresh, locally grown vegetables and fruits. Customers can buy safe agricultural products at the produce sales centers across Hsinchu County every day.
