To show support for the central government’s policy to turn Provincial Highway 3 into the Hakka Romantic Avenue, Hsinchu County Government is going to hold a cycling event in which participants ride along Provincial Highway 3 on December 2nd and 3rd. People of all ages are welcome to experience the romance and Hakka charms of Hsinchu County while collecting great souvenirs and even winning a big prize. Registration is now underway!
At the press conference, Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun introduced the breathtaking scenery and famous products along Provincial Highway 3. He also emphasized that joining in this cycling event could not only enhance physical and mental health, but also provide a chance to know more about your hometown. The Transportation and Tourism Department, Hsinchu County Government, revealed that the cycling activity on December 2nd is designed for those who have cycling or exercise habits. Cyclists will depart for the attractions in Guanxi Township from Xinpu Township, and pedal back to where they start at last. Participants can regain their energy at food and drink stations and even get special discounts at some great stores that cooperate with the government. Those who successfully finish the cycling journey are able to get a medal, a certificate and a souvenir. Besides, splendid performances and distinctive food stands will also be waiting for cyclists at the finishing line. On the other hand, in the “Light Cycling Tour” held on December 3rd, a cycling expert will lead participants to explore the Hakka Romantic Avenue by bike. The government has launched five well-designed cycling routes that cover several townships in Hsinchu County, including Guanxi, Hengshan, Zhudong, Beipu and Emei. Participants can have an informative guided tour, take exclusive DIY courses, and savor traditional Hakka snacks. People can choose any of the high quality cycling routes based on preference.
