Issues including the Asia Silicon Valley promotion plan, cross-strait city exchanges and Hakka forums, ecological tours in wetland parks, cross-region united services of tax authorities, and fighting against fraud, drugs and soil pollution were discussed. In the end, five of them reached consensus.

In addition, following on from the 1st meeting, the 2nd meeting also reminded the central government of the importance of extending the Wugu-Yangmei Elevated Expressway from Yangmei to Miaoli. The four leaders went to the cable-stayed bridge in Zhubei, showing concerns about the traffic congestion on the freeway. Due to great public attention, Zhang Xing-hua, Director of the Taiwan Area National Expressway Engineering Bureau, was on the spot to explain the progress of the Wugu-Yangmei Elevated Expressway extension project in person.

To respond to the central government’s Forward-looking Infrastructure Development Program: Hakka Romantic Avenue, the meeting was held at New Tile House Hakka Cultural District, according to Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun. The host city not only tried to revitalize a historic site, but it also gave attendees a chance to step out of meeting rooms and enjoy the relaxing atmosphere of New Tile House. The guests were also treated to Hakka music performed by the band DaBangNi, which made the occasion filled with Hakka charms. In the meantime, distinctive gifts, cultural creative products, agricultural products and authentic snacks from the four counties/cities were also on display in the venue. Attendees enjoyed tasty Hakka food and promoted local characteristics simultaneously. At the end of the meeting, the four leaders held painted small sacred pigs that represent the Hakka Yimin spirit, hoping that cooperation could keep going in the future through this platform and that everything would run smoothly.
