Straits Forum kicks off in Xiamen, where Hsinchu County’s select products are marketedThe 9th Straits Forum and the Cross-strait Distinctive Temple Fair & Taiwan Economic, Trade and Tourism Promotion Exchange were held in Jimei District, Xiamen City. This exchange meeting followed the main idea of Straits Forum—to expand non-governmental exchange and facilitate mutual development, allowing cross-strait exchanges to be effectively launched.
 
Local companies from Hsinchu County were led by Huang Li-xiang, Deputy Executive Secretary of the Industrial Commercial Development and Investment Promotion Committee, while Chen Guan-yi, Director General of the General Development Department, represented Hsinchu County Government to promote its select high quality products. The event attracted a large number of visitors and media from China and Taiwan. Besides, Mr. Chen invited everyone to visit Hsinchu County and buy Hsinchu County’s select products.
 
Hsinchu County is blessed with beautiful scenery, including mountains, seas and lakes. It contains numbers of recreation areas, leisure farms, Hakka culture, delicious food, and indigenous charm. Due to its diversity, Hsinchu County has a wide range of products renowned far and wide, such as Guanxi’s herbal jelly, Emei’s Oriental Beauty Tea, Beipu’s lei cha and Xinpu’s dried persimmon. This year, more high quality gift products will be added to the list of “Hsinchu County Select” to give them increased exposure. In addition, at the Cross-strait Distinctive Temple Fair, Hsinchu County had 11 stalls displaying and selling civet coffee, handmade soaps, enzymes, rice noodles, Oriental Beauty Tea, lei cha, peanut butter, orange tea, honey and jam.
