Hsinchu County’s First Pet Park Opens in Zhudong Riverside ParkHsinchu County’s first pet park has been officially inaugurated in Zhudong Riverside Park. On the opening day, County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun and Zhudong Township Mayor Xu Zhao-zhang invited people from across Taiwan to take their pets to the park, where pets have their own space to exercise and play.

Hsinchu County Government and Zhudong Township Office obtained a subsidy of NT$2.85 million dollars from the Environmental Protection Administration, Executive Yuan to establish the pet park. The park provides a friendly environment where both people and their pets can have fun together. The pet park has an exclusive space for dogs to run freely, and it is spacious and fully equipped. The pet park is divided into two areas, one for large dogs and the other for small dogs. There are various facilities including a maze, seesaws, and sand pits.

Magistrate Chiu said that pets are our family who need our care. With spacious grass areas, dog-friendly facilities, and a parking lot, the pet park is really a suitable destination for both people and pets. In recent years, more and more people are dog owners. The establishment of the park will deepen the friendship between people and their pets, give dog owners a comfortable space to exchange ideas, and allow dogs to have a good time making friends with other dogs.

The park also provides bags used to clean up dog droppings. And signs saying “please clean up after your dog” are set up to reduce the negative impact on the riverside park. The aim is to raise owners’ awareness about the importance of cleaning up their dog’s droppings so that the environment can remain as pleasant and clean as possible.
