In an effort to enhance Hsinchu’s infrastructure, County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun led a group of county government directors to present a 4-year, 16-project program of major constructions to Executive Yuan Minister without Portfolio Chang Jing-sen, endeavoring to raise NT$15.5 billion form the central government.
Improve the traffic bottleneck of Zhubei
Magistrate Chiu says that with the high productivity and increasing population of Hsinchu, there is a pressing need to acceletrate construction projects intended to satisfy people’s daily needs. The five transport construction projects alone reach over NT$11.5 billion; one of them, the improvement of Zhubei Interchange, has been approved by the Executive Yuan on January 20. In addition, to solve traffic problems around Hsinchu Science Park, Magistrate Chiu hopes to extend Wugu-Yangmei Elevated Highway southwards to Hukou and clear up the traffic bottleneck at Zhubei Interchange in this 4-year project.
Develop culture and green energy
Magistrate Chiu is also actively pushing cultural and green energy related construction. The three cultural construction projects include three landscape art works along Provincial Highway 3, Xinpu Ancestral Hall Museum, and Zhubei Liujia Irrigation Channel Cultural Landscape Revival Plan. The two green energy projects involve the construction of an international environment education park, a regional resource circulation demo park along with an industrial system.
The three water environment construction projects are Xinfeng Potou Fishing Port Development along with Yacht Dock Construction Plan, Touqian River Riverside Sport Park Plan, and the Beautification of Zhubei Douzipu River Detention Basin. At last, the two digital construction projects include Network Infrastructure Construction Plan and 4G Broadband Plan.
