The Implementation Center of Biomedical Industrial Innovation Promotion Program was opened at Biomedical Technology and Product R&D Building of Hsinchu Biomedical Science Park on January 25. Vice President Chen Chien-jen said that the center will link up Taiwan’s biomedical industry from north to south, forming a complete biomedical corridor. Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun stressed that he is happy to see central and local governments working together to promote the biomedical industry by establishing the center to implement the “three themes and four measures” and said that Hsinchu County Government will give full support.
Vice President Chen Chien-jen, Minister of Science & Technology Yang Hong-dun and Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun were in attendance at the Center’s unveiling. Vice President Chen said that the opening of the center will make Taiwan’s biomedical industry clusters from north to south much closer together, allowing the industry to put down firm roots in Taiwan with global views.
The Minister of Science &Technology said that the center will carry out three themes: “local links, international links and future links” and four measures: “establishment of sound ecosystems, integration of innovative clusters, linking with international market, promotion of key industries,” as President Tsai Ing-wen has indicated. The central government hopes to make Taiwan an important Asian hub for the biomedical industry, urge the development of the industry, and boost the economy of Taiwan and the well-being of its people.
With the gradual development of the 38.3-hectare biomedical park, Magistrate Chiu thanked the central government for its support. He said all the bureaus and departments of Hsinchu County Government will continue to give full cooperation to help the local biomedical industry grow.
