Magistrate Chiu visits Chairman of the CPPCC National Committee Yu Zhengsheng and hopes that interaction between cities can be promoted on the basis of equality and mutual benefit.Hsinchu County magistrate Chiu Ching-chun travelled to Mainland China on September 18 in the morning: he paid a visit to Zhang Zhijun, Director of the PRC Taiwan Affairs Office, and then visited Guo Jinlong, Secretary of Beijing Municipal Committee of the CPC, at lunchtime; in the afternoon he paid a visit to Yu Zhengsheng, Chairman of the National Committee of the Chinese People's Political Consultative Conference (CPPCC). Magistrate Chiu emphasize that he hopes to promote interaction between cities on the basis of equality and mutual benefit in order to maximize cross-strait benefits.

Magistrate Chiu said that Taiwan is a beautiful island with superb natural scenery. He said that the magistrates and deputy magistrates of eight cities’ governments including Hsinchu had travelled to China, to display their determination for boosting the economy. The leaders of New Taipei City, Hsinchu County, Miaoli County, Nantou County, Hualien County, Taidong County, Kinmen County, and Lienchiang County all hope to promote interaction between cities on the basis of equality and mutual benefit. Firrst, they hope that the mainland cities will continue to buy agricultural products from Taiwan to boost the value of trade and create a win-win situation; secondly, to expand cross-strait tourism and cultural exchange for creating more mutual benefits.

Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu is President of The World Hakka Federation and he often says that “Wherever the sun is, there must have Hakkanese.” Last year the county government held the Taiwan International Festival of Hakka Culture to promote Hakka culture and hopes that the Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang in Wufeng Township can become the linkage point for cross-strait Hakka cultural and art exchange. The 7th Tri-Hall Annual Meeting (Xi’an Xi'an Incident Memorial Hall, Shenyang Zhang Family Home Museum and the Former Residence of Zhang Xueliang in Hsinchu County, Taiwan) will be hosted by the Zhang Family Home Museum this year and Magistrate Chiu will lead a delegation to attend. Magistrate Chiu invited independent and group travelers to visit Hsinchu County and see its lovely scenery and feel the warmth of Taiwanese. Moreover, he wants to create the most benefits thought out cities’ interaction by sharing academic research resources, which will let the exchange of cross-strait in culture, education and tourism move forward.  Meanwhile, continue to corporate and let young technological talents and state of the art technology maximize cross-strait benefits.
