Summer Vacation LOHAS Summer FUN — Registration Accepted From May 24

To encourage students to engage in healthy activities during the summer vacation, the county government has combined with civil resources, planned summer camps that are healthy for mind and body. Including 10 types of activity, 100 camps, 1000 volunteer teachers, 10,000 participants are expected in Summer Vacation LOHAS Summer FUN. Students can choose to register for the camps and activities they prefer. Disadvantaged children can also take part free. The aim of the event is to  held appropriate and healthy activities, to declare opposition on drug use, motor scooter gangs and entering unsuitable premises, so that summer vacation is a happy and healthy time for the county’s young. The county government held a press conference to explain the event on May 23 in the lobby of the county government building and Magistrate Chiu, Chun-ching was host, clad in baseball kit. Magistrate Chiu said many parents worry about how to keep their children occupied in the long summer vacation. This year, the county government has planned a variety of activities during the summer for parents to register their children for after discussing their preferences with them, to keep the children occupied and also allow them to have fun and new learning experiences in summer vacation. He said that safety is the most important thing with regards summer vacation activities, hoping that the young students will learn and grow in a safe environment.

The 10 types of activity in Summer Vacation LOHAS Summer FUN are recreational sport, public benefit service, knowledge and arts skills training, family activity, environmental education, health and anti-drug, international culture, Taiwanese culture and anime and comics. Traffic safety advocacy will raise the level of road safety knowledge, crime prevention advocacy will encourage participation inappropriate recreational sports and there will also be a book exhibition including the books on the summer vacation reading list of various schools so children can complete their school work in county libraries. As for laying down cultural roots, there are visits to the 9 clan shrines of Xinpu, Xiwawu Hakka Settlement and the Yimin Temple, Atayal language study and comic and anime camps at Zhudong Anime Park and Dudu Elementary School in Hengshan Township, that will increase children’s’ understanding of the diverse cultural splendor of Hsinchu County. Parents are invited to take part in the activities together with their children, learning and growing together.

Many children would like to visit an amusement park. To allow children from remote townships to also have a fun summer vacation, Leofoo Village Theme Park and Little Ding-Dong Science Park will also be in line with county government’s policy, allowing  children free entry in summer vacation; Sha Yang Ye Industrial Co. Ltd will also provide free guided tours to allow children from remote townships to experience the latest technology.
