Hsinchu County’s per Household Income and Disposable Income Rank Third in Taiwan
The results of its 2014 family income and expenditure survey were announced by the Directorate General of Budget, Accounting and Statistics, Executive Yuan, on August 14, 2015. The number of employed persons in Hsinchu County is high and income and disposable income rank third in Taiwan. The county also performed outstandingly with respect to life quality and modernization indicators. The data shows that the county government’s efforts to attract business and investment have achieved good results and that a highly liveable environment for people of all ages with enviable employment, social order, education and medical conditions has been created.
The county government’s Department of Budget, Accounting and Statistics said: in 2014 the average number of persons in each household was 3.49 with an average of 1.65 persons employed per household, both figures the highest in Taiwan. The average per household income was NT$1,389,453, up by NT$42,685 on the year before; average per household disposable income was NT$1,108,941 (income that could be spent or saved), up by NT$35,048 on the year before, both figures the third highest in Taiwan (behind only Taipei City and Hsinchu City).

The average space of each household was also 61.14 ping (one ping=3.306 square meters,) the highest in Taiwan (the national average is 44.12 ping). There were also 111.57 cars per 100 households, the highest in Taiwan (national average 69.68 per 100 households); also in terms of ownership rate of main household equipment and appliances, Hsinchu County ranked near the top. Average household consumption expenditure in 2014 was NT$900,922 (national average of NT$755,169), ranking third in Taiwan; average household expenditure on education was NT$ 44,630 (second highest in Taiwan), average per household expenditure on restaurants and hotels was NT$106,132, the highest in Taiwan; average per household expenditure on transport was NT$120,547, second highest in Taiwan, and expenditure on recreation and leisure was NT$46.432, third highest in Taiwan.
