Global Views Monthly released the result of 2015 Overall Competitiveness Survey of 19 Cities and Counties on June 30th. Hsinchu County again ranks the first in Quality of Life and Modernization Index this year, making it 2 years in a row. Hsinchu County also has the highest population growth rate and the highest rate of return to schooling (elementary school and middle school levels) among all 19 counties and cities. “Hsinchu County, home to many employees of Hsinchu Science Park, has outstanding performances,” Global Views Monthly said in the press release. “It is both the national and group winner in Quality of Life and Modernization Index. Hsinchu County came out at the top of the list in all 13 indexes, with its ownership of vehicles per hundred households topping the country.”
Global Views Monthly indicated that the 13 indexes in the Quality of Life and Modernization Index are city area of parkland, children’s playgrounds, stadiums, and public squares per 10,000 residents, rate of water-served population, ownership of cable television and equipment, ownership of mobile phones, ownership of vehicles, internet penetration, mobile internet penetration, number of air conditioners and heaters per 100 households, average living space per capita, percentage of expenses in books, stationeries, newspapers, magazines perhousehold, density of road network, and public transportation usage rate.
In recent years, Hsinchu County Government has put efforts in investment promotion, and reducing the unemployment rate. To give the residents higher quality of life, the County Government has been establishing well-rounded social welfare and building an environment-friendly society, making Hsinchu County a city suited for all ages. Moreover, Hsinchu County has adequate medical resources and convenient public transportation. All in all, the living environment and quality in Hsinchu County gets many praises from the residents.
