Hsinchu County Government and StarFab Accelerator have jointly established the Hsinchu AIoT Accelerator: Youth Startups—Turning Dreams into Gold, which is now in its third year. In order to help new startups go global, Hsinchu County Government recently collaborated with Mizuho Bank to organize the Taiwan–Japan Innovation Exchange Meeting. At the meeting, Hsinchu County Education Bureau Director Yang Chun-zi, presented a Certificate of Appreciation and a souvenir to Mizuho Bank’s General Manager, On Murata, on behalf of Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke. The meeting attracted approximately 40 Taiwanese and Japanese companies and new start-up teams to gather in Hsinchu, where they explored the infinite possibilities of combining intelligent technology and industry!
“Magistrate Yang aims to actively support local start-ups, starting from the Youth Start-up Base, and continuing through the AIoT Accelerator process, to understand how to help enterprises go from 1 to 100. Thanks to StarFab Accelerator’s assistance in pooling resources from industries, the government, academia, and research institutions to help new start-ups grow rapidly, this year, a record 17 new start-ups have been successfully matched up with enterprises. Thanks to Mizuho Bank’s assistance, not only enterprises, but even colleagues from the county government are participating in today’s event. We hope that this platform can also horizontally integrate administrative resources and become the strongest support for everyone, so as to increase mutual trust. This event serves as a starting point for cooperation, and we look forward to having more opportunities to cooperate with Japanese enterprises and rapidly connect with the domestic and overseas capital markets. Moreover, we welcome all of you to exchange views with each other, and to become each other’s important partners.” Director Yang said.
According to Mizuho Bank’s General Manager, Murata On, new start-ups require not only cooperation in business and capital, but also an understanding of culture and how to bridge cultural differences. Mizuho Bank assists startups in realizing mutual respect and support, which facilitates better linkage and cooperation for new start-ups in Taiwan and Japan. In addition to Mizuho Bank, several other Japanese companies also participated in the exchange, hoping to explore the possibility of cooperation between Taiwanese and Japanese companies and create more opportunities for exchange and collaboration between Taiwan and Japan.
The Hsinchu AIoT Accelerator aims to “cultivate new startups, empower industries, and create the future together”. It links local Hsinchu enterprises and international partners in the ecosystem to facilitate new start-ups’ rapid connection to the market. So far, the Accelerator has assisted more than 30 new startup teams in collaborating with enterprises. The Taiwan–Japan Innovation Exchange Meeting invited five former startup teams that have participated in previous accelerators to share their innovation solutions on stage: StarFab Accelerator; Asiabots Limited; Moldintel Co., Ltd.; iAMBITION Technology Co., Ltd.; and LEDA-CREATIVE Technology Ltd. Moreover, nearly 20 startup teams set up booths onsite and exchanged ideas passionately with Taiwanese and Japanese enterprises and venture capital organizations to seize new technology business opportunities in Taiwan and Japan.
Magistrate Yang indicated that the Hsinchu County Government has been committed to creating a friendly environment for entrepreneurship in recent years, and aims to provide comprehensive support for youth entrepreneurship while simultaneously helping industries transform and upgrade with next-generation technologies. To help startups explore overseas markets and advance international industrial intelligence business opportunities, the county government specifically teamed up with Mizuho Bank, a Japanese enterprise, to establish a bridge for startups to cooperate with Taiwanese and Japanese enterprises. By holding the Taiwan–Japan Innovation Exchange Meeting, the county government hopes to lead the way and help startups to cooperate with both Japanese enterprises and local Hsinchu enterprises, develop more possibilities for technological applications, and move toward the international market.
