Minister Lin Chia-Lung promotes Hsinchu County and Miaoli County feature tourism brands: County Magistrate Yang markets specialties from Beipu and Neiwan.

To create feature brands for tourism in Hsinchu and Miaoli in the post-epidemic era, the Tourism Bureau of the Ministry of Transportation and Communications held an exchange forum today at West Lake Resortopia. Minister of Transportation and Communications Lin Chia-Lung led the Director-General of the Tourism Bureau Chang, Shi-chung; Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-Ke; Hsinchu City Deputy Mayor Shen Hui-hung and Miaoli County Magistrate Hsu Yao-Chang in declaring the establishment of the Hospitable Hsinchu and Miaoli Regional Tourism Alliance. He also listened to the opinions of nearly a hundred representatives from tourism industry associations in Hsinchu County, Hsinchu City and Miaoli County. He hoped that the central government, county governments and city governments can cooperate to understand frontline needs. The regional alliance for the industry will provide a bottom to top platform for proposing effective plans to promote tourism.
At the exchange forum, the tourism marketing units from the Hsinchu County Government and Miaoli County Government also partnered with local businesses to display local cuisines, agricultural specialties, cultural and creative goods and Muslim friendly gifts. Hsinchu County also displayed Lei Cha, Hakka dried persimmons, Hakka Moon cakes, brown sugar cakes, Hakka salted pork, Pomfong tea, Ginger Lily egg rolls and rice dumplings. Minister Lin feasted on many of the delicacies. He was full of praise for the brown sugar cakes from Neiwan, saying that his daughter often brings them home.
According to Minister Lin, Taiwan’s tourism is currently dominated by the international travel market. When the epidemic ends, he will work to attract international tourists. To further develop the potential of tourism activities, itineraries and merchandize in the Hsinchu and Miaoli region, food, accommodation, travel, shopping and transportation will be integrated. The Tri-Mountain National Scenic Area Administration of the Tourism Bureau has cross-jurisdictional cooperation with local governments and tourism industry associations to promote the establishment of a tourism circle. Through resource integration and industry counseling, they seek to enhance the content of international tourism and provide high quality choices for the international travel market.

County Magistrate Yang Wen-Ke said that the good news of central resource investment is quite exciting. The integration of tourism resources from Hsinchu and Miaoli will allow people from all over the country to visit and attract domestic tourists in the future. However, to promote tourism, having a sound transport infrastructure is very important. Minister Lin has also supported the Provincial Highway 1 alternative route, the Provincial Highway 68 extension and the Hukou Interchange projects, and the Hsinchu County Government will continue to work hard promote the projects.
