Poll shows 80% of local citizens are proud to live in Hsinchu County

As Hsinchu County Magistrate Yang Wen-ke served 100 days in office, the county government specially commissioned a polling company to carry out a survey on local citizens' satisfaction level. The survey revealed that about 40% of the citizens were satisfied. Besides, three of the policies, including the budget increase for organic food used in school lunch, child benefit, and a raise of annual allowance for the seniors, gained most people's support, with an approval rating of 88.65%, 81.63%, and 72.88% respectively. Most importantly, most people made positive remarks, and 80% of local citizens showed that they were proud to live in Hsinchu County. After learning of the survey, Magistrate Yang showed gratitude for the support and encouragement from the citizens. He promised that the county government would strive to take care of people of all ages in the future.

As for the land value tax reduction, 74.68% of the citizens comment positively on the government's communication. In addition, 46.07 of the citizens felt confident about the fulfillment of Magistrate Yang's three major projects and the future prosperity Magistrate Yang had promised. At present, the three major projects are ongoing and may make Hsinchu County a smart city.

The survey was conducted via phone calls by Era Poll Center on April 2, 3, and 7, with 1070 effective samples. It may have a margin of error of ±3% at a 95% level of confidence.
