探訪鎮西堡檜木群，往返需約三、四個鐘頭，行前穿戴輕便衣裝及防滑鞋，再攜瓶水即可。行約一個鐘頭後，可見檜木群聳入天際，15棵樹齡千年以上的檜木群中有需十幾個人才能合抱的「國王」檜木，還有可容一個成人鑽入樹洞的「夏娃」檜木等。 春天的鎮西堡擁有水蜜桃花與八重櫻同開的勝景，一號神木旁也有許多山櫻花伺環，不妨趁著花季前來賞花。 At Jhensibao, there are 15 trees that are over a thousand years old. One of them, the “King” juniper tree, has a huge trunk that takes more than ten people holding hands to go around it. Another giant juniper tree, called “Eve,”has a huge hole inside the trunk which has room enough to allow an adult to enter.
