To promote in-depth exploration, Hsinchu County Government has launched “light travels” recently, unveiling a total of 6 travel itineraries in different seasons. “The One Nanyuan—Culture and Cuisine Tour,” one of the travel itineraries launched exclusively in summer, was open for sign-up on July 24th. With great popularity, it was fully booked within only 2 hours.
In response to the requests from those who did not successfully register in time, Hsinchu County Magistrate Chiu Ching-chun announced that 5 more batches, 100 spots in total, will be open for sign-up again at 9 am on July 28th. Magistrate Chiu warmly invites people to explore and experience the scenery and culture of Hsinchu County. The light travels begin from August 5th, 2017 to May 12th, 2018. The registration of the three summer and autumn travel itineraries have kicked off, while the registration of the other three winter and spring itineraries is schedule to start from November 1st, 2017.
The six seasonal travel itineraries will respectively provide visitors with special experiences and insights into Nanyuan, the persimmon dyeing in Xinpu Township, the aboriginal life in Atayal Hunter School, the camellias in Chiu Kungan's Garden, the vines bursting with purple flowers in Neiwan, and the Tung flowers by Emei Lake on Provincial Highway 3. Visitors can also savor distinctive local cuisine as they feast their eyes on splendid landscapes in different seasons.
The Transportation and Tourism Department, Hsinchu County Government stated that each person can get a discount of up to NTD600 for the light travels. As a result, the prices of the light travels are 30% to 40% lower than normal market prices. In addition to beautiful views and delicious food, there are DIY and guided tours during the trips. Through in-depth exploration, it is hoped that tourists can have further acquaintance with Hsinchu County and love it much more.
